By many accounts Government approach to religion in the UK is quite open and relaxed. If there are reports or actions to the contrary, as well as individual and social instances of discrimination, please do send to info@allfaithsnetwork.org.
However, one government report issued in 2023, the Blum Report, titled ‘Does Government do God’ does raise some concern – though it should be noted that this is a report commissioned by former Prime Minister Boris Johnson and has not been officially adopted as UK government policy. The report covered some excellent proposals but also some downright discriminatory ones too. From this odd mixture can be seen an attempt to influence government policy through the discriminatory lens of the so-called French-based ‘anti-cult’ movement. (See also section on France for further information.)
